Modular Refrigeration Units - Designed for Ohio Rich Gas Delivery
High BTU natural gas is encountered in Marcellus and Utica sites throughout the Appalachia basin. An economical way to handle the rich gas is the installation of Modular Refrigeration Units on pad or at gathering compressor stations.
This technology has been used for many decades to condition rich gas for on-spec transport in pipelines over many areas including West Texas, Canada and the Rocky Mountains. These MRU process units can be designed to make both HD5 and Y-Grade NGL’s for wholesale or retail delivery to local markets from the operated well pads.
Big North Consulting (BNC) is currently building two HD5 and Y-Grade refrigeration systems for delivery to Ohio 3rd Quarter of 2019. The modular design is well suited for variable production of rich gas and can add $.35 to .75 per MCFE to wellhead gas prices at delivery. Plants similar to those being deployed to Ohio may prove an economical enhancement to stable gas prices in the future development of higher BTU gas for Appalachia.
Just starting assembly of two modular skids now for delivery and installation. Stay tuned for more details.
